What is the source of collagen in Dr. Wellness products?

The collagen in Dr. Wellness products is sourced from dermis of natural cod either from within Japan or North America, which is a rare and precious resource. Our research has found that cod and other coastal fish exhibit the best collagen absorbency, approximately seven times greater than that of land animals such as pigs or chickens.

Most fish collagen available on the market is derived from scales, which requires the use of hydrochloric acid for extraction. This process deactivates most of the protein in collagen, resulting in a product with low biological activity. Moreover, residual hydrochloric acid can cause gastritis.

In contrast, collagen from fish dermis can be extracted using only heat and enzymes because the skin is soft. Additionally, collagen from fish with lower body temperatures that are less active and live at the sea bottom, such as cod or flounder, is easier to break down and absorb compared to fish with higher body temperatures like tuna or salmon.

What is the source of placenta in Dr. Wellness products?

The placenta used in Dr. Wellness products is 100% domestically produced pig placenta from SNOWDEN Co., Ltd. located in Miyazaki Prefecture, Japan.

SNOWDEN Co., Ltd d. founded in 1973, is a manufacturer with over 30 years of history in placenta research. It stands out for its quality and technology, having obtained approval from the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare to use placenta extract in pharmaceutical products.

Among the placenta extracts from SNOWDEN Co., Ltd. Dr. Wellness specifically chooses those from domestically raised pigs due to their high biological activity.

Why do we need to take collagen?

After water, protein ranks as the second most abundant component within the human body. Of this protein, collagen constitutes approximately 30%.

For an individual weighing 50 kg, this translates to roughly 3 kg of collagen present in the body.

Collagen serves as the foundation for a robust and flexible structure or membrane-like framework, fulfilling various crucial roles, including:

-Moisturizing and enhancing the elasticity of the skin.

-Providing elasticity to blood vessels.

-Forming sturdy bones.

-Enhancing joint mobility.

-Building resilient tendons and muscles.

The benefits of collagen extend beyond promoting beautiful skin; it also holds significant promise in addressing conditions such as high blood pressure, arteriosclerosis, osteoporosis, and joint diseases.

Indeed, it is widely recognized that the body's collagen levels decline by approximately 1% each year after reaching their peak around the age of 20.

Despite its significance, there is a constraint on the amount of collagen that can be actively absorbed through dietary intake, and this diminishes with age.

As a proactive anti-aging strategy, supplementing collagen intake holds considerable importance. By incorporating high-quality collagen into your regimen, you can anticipate the preservation of an energetic and healthy body.

What are the benefits of taking placenta?

Within placenta, growth factors such as Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF) and Fibroblast Growth Factor (FGF) demonstrate remarkable efficacy in enhancing skin health and beauty. Moreover, Insulin-like Growth Factor (IGF) and Nerve Cell Growth Factor (NGF) contribute to the regulation of hormone balance and the autonomic nervous system.

As a result, incorporating placenta into one's regimen yields wide-ranging benefits, including the promotion of beautiful skin, alleviation of menopausal symptoms, and mitigation of fatigue.

Furthermore, placenta is renowned for its ability to stimulate collagen synthesis. When combined with collagen supplementation, the synergistic effect enhances collagen synthesis within the body, thereby amplifying its rejuvenating effects.
